Full Job Description

Associate Optometrist – 4-Day Work Week | Full-Time or Part-Time | Davis, CA
Part-time: $650–$1,200/day

Full-time: $135,200–$249,600+ annually on a 4-day schedule

Built around a 4-day week by design, not as a perk tacked on. Clinic days end on time, every time, and new hires — including new grads — typically start on a guaranteed daily rate for up to a year before shifting to production, so income is stable while you build confidence. Add a manageable 20-patient day and genuinely full-scope medical optometry, and this is a schedule built to avoid burnout without sacrificing income.

📍 Location
Davis, CA — just outside Sacramento.

🗓 Schedule & Flexibility
Full-time: 4–4.5 days/week
Part-time (2 days/week) considered, especially near-term
Monday–Friday only — no weekends, ever

👁 Patient Load
20 patients/day, with built-in buffer and catch-up blocks so the schedule doesn’t run long.

🩺 Scope of Care
Full medical optometry and optical — not just refractions.

Established programs in myopia control, scleral lenses, ortho-K, and pediatrics, plus glaucoma, macular degeneration, and advanced contact lens fits.

💻 Technology
Two California Optos, Zeiss topographer, auto AR/IOP/Ks, OCT, Octopus visual fields, automated Marco phoropters in all 6 exam rooms, and Crystal EHR.

👥 Team & Support
Full tech support plus a full-time NCLE handling pre-testing, case history, VAs, entrance skills, CL fits, follow-ups, and trainings — so you’re interpreting data across multiple exam rooms, not collecting it.

💰 Compensation & Benefits

$5,000 signing/relocation bonus

$650–$1,200/day ($135,200–$249,600+ annually on a 4-day week)

4% matching 401(k)

⭐ What Makes This Opportunity Unique
A true 4-day structure paired with full-scope medical optometry — myopia control, ortho-K, sclerals, glaucoma and macular management — backed by strong diagnostic tech and dedicated tech/NCLE support in every room.
